05.05.06 - WTF?! We were hoping for double loot but...

...I thought we had killed the twins already.

05.01.06 - AQ Down Viscidus dropped tonight for the final boss kill in Ahn'Qiraj for us. We coulda done it sooner I'm sure if we cared about the encounter...it's perhaps worth it for alliance, but barely. In any case, it's nice to be done with the instance, now the wait for Nax begins.

04.27.06 - The Triad Strikes Again! Ouro dead...yay...I guess it's decent, except umm, do bosses really need to continue to rape us AFTER they are dead? Looks like Viscidus is the final boss of AQ40! Meh! And I'm still confused if the game or Tigole is wrong on Ouro's spelling. ;p

04.26.06 - C'Thun Down So we dropped C'Thun today...coulda had him last night I'm sure, but sucks having to do a full clear of the instance after hearing other guilds are getting kills in old instances. Meh. Past that, why the fuck could Blizzard not have been honest with their player base from the start? All the bullshit that there weren't bugs, and suddenly, they patch bugs in the encounter. It's fucking retarded. Anyway, whatever, off to kill other shit...

04.24.06 - Recruitment Looking to recruit a few people...especially warlocks. We want intelligent warlocks, so if you're too dumb to do things like keep a SS up, and be sure your tank always has an imp near him, do not bother applying. Also, if you are too lazy to make your character the best he can be, don't bother applying. This means your gear should be enchanted. In a smart fashion. Oh, and you'll be expected to keep a curse (elements?) up the entire time too. I know this sounds like such a difficult job, but on top of that, good damage (based on gear) is required. Feel free to submit an app to application@risen-guild.com or talk with Thatguy ingame. On a side note, could use another hunter and paladin too. You don't get a summary of your class though.

P.S. - don't suck. |
02.19.06 - C'thun Well, we got C'thun to phase 2 tonight...not much to say but ouch. Seems like a very complex fight. We'll see what we can do over the next week.

02.17.06 - Progress into Ahn'Qiraj Well, after the instance reset on Tuesday, we started a fresh AQ instance on Thursday night. After 2 nights of raiding (and a first shot kill on the new emps), we got to see C'thun and Ouro for the first time tonight. Unfortunately, it was kinda late by that point, so we didn't really get to do much other than say "weee" and claim a server first ass-raping to each. Hopefully we can make some progress tomorrow night on one of these.
I have to say, overall, Ahn'Qiraj is a pretty well done instance. There are definitely parts that are more fun than others. People can say they like Huhuran, and in this instance, we killed her with only 4 deaths, but I don't think I'll ever say I like this fight. On the other hand, I think Skeram and the Emperors are both very well done fights, and I thoroughly enjoy each. Also, both Ouro and C'thun appear to be pretty well done - time will be the true test there. As for the trash pulls - I think Blizzard got it near perfect in Ahn'Qiraj with both difficulty and how respawns work. Props for that. Further updates to come.

02.13.06 - Vek'nilash and Vek'lor Down (that's the new versions) After a bit of work, we managed to drop the new and improved version of the twin emperors. Is the fight rough? Hell yea. Is the fight doable? Obviously. Is the fight a damned good challenge? Most definitely. In fact, this is the best challenge we've had in a long time, comparable only to the un-tauntable Firemaw. Hopefully this time, Blizzard will leave a challenging encounter as is for people to enjoy and overcome.

02.10.06 - AQ Day 0.75 (Huhuran down) Princess Huhuran down @8:30pm CST. Second or third kill worldwide of this boss in her current form that's apparently "too hard"? Rough, but yea, our gates opened this morning. More to come.

02.10.06 - AQ Day 0.5 This morning, around 4:30 AM, the gates of Ahn'Qiraj finally opened. By 5am, we were well on our way to catch some other servers that had a head start on us. By the time everyone had to start leaving for "jobs" (talking on AIM/IRC), "school" (sleeping), or "sleep" (well, bed anyway), we had 4 bosses down - all being server firsts. After people had to log, those of us that remained online zoned into AQ20 and claimed server firsts on all 6 bosses there. Not bothering with loot pictures. Visit thot or alla if you really want to see them. Also didn't take any screenshots in AQ20, oh well. Day 1 of AQ commences tonight!

And now, rant time. After the long, painful grind to open the gates, I guess Ahn'Qiraj itself is pretty fun. Excluding the first boss of the 20man, I think every fight was fun and unique, though some are definitely on the easier side. Ossirian (the final boss of the 20 man) is potentially one of the most fun fights I've seen in a while. In the 40 man, I'd say the first 5 encounters all seem to be pretty well designed, but the difficulty leaves a bit to be desired (after waiting 6+ months, it'll be a shame if it's beaten in a matter of weeks). Of course, Blizzard stated the 2nd half of the instance is the challenging part, and we're definitely looking forward to that. Finally, I hope Blizzard never does some sort of farming event ever again - this one was a bit too wearing on everyone involved. I hope they never allow a high-end raid instance to open on one server before another again, as it really takes the drive to play out of a lot of people. Best of luck to everyone in Ahn'Qiraj.

01.22.06 - AQ Giveaway Ending Due to the fact that interest in the giveaway seems to has died out, I am sorry to announce that as of Sunday night, the giveaway will be brought to a close. The weekend herb turnins will end and the weekly and grand prize will be awarded then. We urge people to continue to help the war effort.
The overall grand prize winner was Bladean, who will be receiving his choice of loot in an MC run, as previously announced. Elementofnv was a close runner up, who was also offered a run, but turned it down in lieu of an extra weekly prize.
The winners of the weekend herbalism giveaway were Ralzion, Sereniti and Helda.
Here were the week's raffle numbers. The winners of the weekly prizes were Meq, Bladean, Therm, Yapper, and Bellicose.
Here were the sixth day's raffle numbers. The winners on day 6 were Bladean [Giantstalker's Bracers + Onyxia Scale Cloak + 300g], Ravincoff [Abyssal Scepter], and Therm [100g].
Here were the fifth day's raffle numbers. The winners on day 5 were Goofball [Giantstalker's Bracers] and Elementofnv [Plans: Lionheart Helm].

01.20.06 - AQ progress So, making a fresh post to update the status of the AQ Giveaway. First off, the resources needed have been altered as follows:
High Demand: Peacebloom, Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Arthas Tears, Mageweave Bandages, Linen Bandages
Medium Demand: Copper Bars, Silk Bandages, Light Leather, Wool Bandages
Low Demand: Thick Leather, Heavy Leather
Done: Stranglekelp, Medium Leather, Runecloth, Thorium Bars, Mithril Bars, Iron Bars, Baked Salmon, Rugged Leather, Roast Raptor, Rainbow Fin Albacore, Spotted Yellowtail, Lean Wolf Steaks, Tin Bars
Now, we have a new contest, this contest is going to be a bit longer duration and will start Friday morning and run through Monday night, for 4 days total. This time, we are looking for most (note, NOT all) of the herb turnins. The herbs that will be tallied for this competition are Peacebloom, Arthas' Tears, Purple Lotus, and Firebloom. The top3 contributors will each receive the choice of an epic mount from any faction or 2 bottomless bags. If we reach a point where a specific herb is no longer needed before the conclusion of this contest, we will not accept nor give credit for said herb, so please check regularly for which herbs are still needed and which are not.
Here were the fourth day's raffle numbers. The winners on day 4 were Bobbolderock [Stronghold Gauntlets], Uthelmalic, Freydis [Abyssal Scepter], Bladean [100g], Monia [+15 Agi Enchant], Claell [+15 Agi Enchant], and Denied.

01.18.06 - And another update The first two days of the giveaway have gone well. Keep the supplies coming! Lets get Alleria back into the top5!
Here were the second day's raffle numbers. The winners on day 2 were Irene [Felheart Belt], Rudias [Spellpower Enchant], Elementofnv [Onyxia Scale Cloak + Scarlet Kris], Denied [Orb of Deception], Gillias [100g], and Bladean [100g].
Here were the first day's raffle numbers. The winners on day 1 were Bobbolderock [Arcanite Reaper + 100g], Elementofnv [Giantstalker's Belt], Demosthenes [Abyssal Scepter], Bladean [Scarlet Kris], Matoc [Onyxia Scale Cloak], and Jedivh [Mighty Intellect Enchant].
Third day changes are as follows. First off, we have altered the list of what is needed. Note that some items that are very close to being completed we are no longer accepting for pts, they should be returned if they are sent in. Please send less items to Domon and more to other people on the following lists. Also, we no longer need Spotted Yellowtail, Lean Wolf Steaks, or Tin Bars, so direct your farming elsewhere. Check the list below, try to farm "High Demand" items if you can.
Alliance: Domon, Raile, Cannonballz, Crinda
Horde: Neglect, Lameness, Hitoca
Furthermore, Peacebloom farming is needed, so, the single person who farms the most Peacebloom over day2 and day3 (that is, we'll sum up the number of peacebloom you turnin total over these 2 days) will win their choice of an epic mount from any race or 2 bottomless bags. This is in ADDITION to the daily and weekly prizes being given out.

01.17.06 - Further Information on the AQ Giveaway This followup post is to state what is the most and least needed at the moment. Since the goal of this is to open AQ as fast as possible for the entirety of Alleria, we would ask that people try to focus on the more needed items. Currently, here is the rundown:
High Demand: Peacebloom, Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Arthas Tears, Mageweave Bandages, Linen Bandages

Low Demand: Runecloth, Medium Leather, Thick Leather, Stranglekelp
Done: Thorium Bars, Mithril Bars, Iron Bars, Baked Salmon, Rugged Leather, Roast Raptor, Rainbow Fin Albacore, Spotted Yellowtail, Lean Wolf Steaks, Tin Bars
Now, to help out the war effort a bit, here are some good places to farm the high demand items:
Peacebloom : Mulgore, Silverpine Forest, Teldrassil, Durotar, etc (any level 1-10 or 10-20 zone works).

01.16.06 - Help the War Effort!
In an effort to motivate the server to gather the vast amount of resources needed to open the gates of Ahn’Qiraj, Risen is hosting a giveaway. To enter, all you need to do is to send enough of the still-needed supplies to Domon (Alliance) or Nomod (Horde) to earn 10 commendation signets. Once the items are received, the supplies will be tallied and raffle tickets (numbers) will be assigned. There will be prizes given out both daily and weekly. When all the supplies that Alleria needs have been turned in and the gates are ready to be opened, one lucky Grand Prize winner will be awarded a spot in a Risen Molten Core run in which they will be able to loot just about anything he or she wants.
Currently needed supplies can be seen here.
Rules:
1. To earn a raffle ticket, you must deliver to Domon (alliance) and Nomod (horde) enough of an item to get 10 commendation signets (example: 200 linen = 1 ticket or 40 Purple Lotus = 1.4tickets). If there are decimals remaining when daily totals are calculated the number of tickets will be rounded down.
2. The daily raffle tickets will be decided according to the amount received by above-mentioned characters at midnight CST(remember that there is a one-hour delay on mail so you need to have mailed the items by 11p.m. CST). These prizes are open to both Horde and Alliance. The first drawing will be on Tuesday night.
3. The weekly raffle tickets will be decided after accumulating a full week of daily raffle tickets. If you have won a daily prize, you are still eligible for the weekly prizes. These prizes are available to both Horde and Alliance.
4. The Grand Prize will be awarded to the individual who has done the most for the war effort when the gates open. If you are not level 60 and win this prize, you are guaranteed a run as soon as you hit 60. This character must hit 60 within three months of the contest's end. If you are not attuned to Molten Core, we will help you get this done if you win. This is only available to the Alliance. If a Horde player wins or the winner doesn't want the Molten Core run, he or she will be allowed to pick three of any of the other prizes.
Daily prizes include:
1 World or Molten Core BoE epic per day. Some options include: Skullflame Shield, Plans: Lionheart Helm, Arcanist Bindings, Nightslayer Bracelets, Felheart Bracers, Cenarian Bracers, Giantstalker's Bracers, Felheart Belt, Lawbringer Belt, Earthfury Belt, Giantstalker's Belt, Girdle of Prophecy, Eye of Shadow (for priest epic quest), Mature Blue Dragon Sinew (for hunter epic quest) and other epics that might be obtained during the run of the contest
1-5 BoE Blues per day based on availability. Some options include: Scarlet Kris, Onyxia Scale Cloak, and many other blues (full list to come).
1 prize of 100g per day
1 High Level Weapon Enchant per day (including Crusader, Spell power, Healing power, 22int, 15agi, 15str, 20spi, Lifesteal)
1 Abyssal Scepter per day (we will redeem this for a Chest of Spoils for you if you wish)
Weekly prizes include:
1 Epic drop off of a Silithus Lord (we will bring you along until it drops) per week. This prize is available only to Alliance. There are 4 choices available here. They are: Earthen Guard, Elemental Focus Band, Wavefront Necklace, Windshear Cape.
1 Full set of Class Spells from Ahn’Qiraj (they drop in the 20 man AQ instance) per week (only one set will be given out for any particular class. These will be given out as soon as we have them available.)
1 set of 2 Bottomless Bags per week
1 Libram enchant through trade window per week (including +125ac, +8 to any stat, +20FR, +150mana, +100hp to helm or legs). This prize is available only to Alliance.
*NEW* 1 Epic Mount from a race of your choosing (added due to popular demand - we ARE listening!)
Grand Prize:
As listed above, the Grand Prize is a spot in a Risen Molten Core run in which you get to loot just about anything you want. Legendaries, boss drop patterns, and most Tier 2 pants (provided a Risen member needs them) will not be lootable. The only other limit to this prize is that the items have to be something you can equip and that your class would actually use (e.g. no mages taking Quickstrike Ring).
Members of Risen and Blighted are excluded from this giveaway. Thanks to Blighted for helping supply the Horde side prizes. In order to ensure these items are getting turned in, they will not be returned to the sender.
Any inquiries about this giveaway should be sent to:

11.01.05 - Late update I guess I should have made this update earlier, but Risen managed to kill the final of the 4 new green dragons on October 23rd when Ysondre finally spawned for the first time. This was after multiple kills on the other 3 dragons, all being Alleria server firsts. Pictures to come when I can get them from people. Oh yea, almost forgot, congratulations to Evolothar for the server first Thunderfury...finally we have one.
